“Historical Mysteries remain among the most popular and they include more and more countries and cultures and offer historical/cultural/social details…Both Historical Fiction and Mystery readers choose these authors and their books for the details of a particular historical period, as well as for the puzzle and the characters.” (from Joyce Saricks, The Readers’ Advisory Guide to Genre Fiction, p. 225)

Benchmark title: Silver Pigs by Lindsey Davis. You will also need to read a second book in the historical mystery genre. I have several that I was considering for the benchmark title, please ask Molly if you want a suggestion, or additional resources to find a historical mystery include:

Historical Mysteries – Bibliography

Historical Mysteries: The Ancient World
Historical Mysteries: The Americas
Historical Mysteries: Europe
